Entertainment Review: “Creed 3”

Across the world there are many different movies and genres, but certain movie series have stood the test of time. A great movie series is the Rocky series with actor Sylvester Stallone. In the Rocky series, Stallone plays the role of a professional boxer and faces very tough obstacles and great boxers. One of the boxers he faces is Apollo Creed, who is played by actor Carl Weathers. As the series goes on Apollo has a son and his name is Adonis.

Adonis grew up and dreamed of becoming a professional boxer just like his father Apollo. Creed and Balboa bond over this time, becoming close friends. In Rocky IV, Creed decides to make a one-off return to the ring to fight a Soviet Union boxer by the name of Ivan Drago. The fight is billed as an exhibition, but unfortunately, Creed is knocked unconscious in the second round, resulting in his death. When Adonis was young he was put in juvenile detention for fighting and that’s what inspired him to become a professional boxer.

As a spin-off of the Rocky series, Creed was created to give a background of Apollo Creed and his son Adonis who lives on his legacy.

In “Creed 1,” everyone knows Adonis because of his dad, but he doesn’t want to live on his legacy. He even changed his last name to Johnson instead of Creed because he didn’t want to be known for following in his dads footsteps. Johnson is Adonis’ moms maiden name and he wanted the last name Johnson to be known. As he prepares for his first ever boxing match, he battles through tough obstacles to help get in shape.

In “Creed 2,” Adonis Creed (son of Apollo Creed) takes on Viktor Drago (the son of Ivan Drago). Ivan Drago is the one who knocked out Adonis’ dad Apollo and knocked him unconscious and the result of that unfortunately killed him.

Coming soon to the movie world’s “Creed 3.” It is about how Adonis is still dominating the boxing world, he is thriving in his career and family life. When Damian, a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces after serving time in prison, he’s eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face-off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian — a fighter who has nothing to lose.
