Entertainment Review: “One Love” Bob Marley

Entertainment+Review%3A+One+Love+Bob+Marley

“One Love” was released into theaters on February 14 and is gaining popularity. The movie stars Kingsley Ben-Adir, who plays the world-famous Jamaican singer-songwriter Bob Marley.

The movie shows how Marley overcomes the adversary the world brings to him when he becomes one of the greatest artists in music history. The movie was something I’d never watched before in the ways it portrayed the character of Bob Marley and his family. It also details the island and displays Jamaica’s vibrant culture and landscape.

During the movie it shows how the life of a famous singer is very dangerous and the family difficulties that were brought to him throughout his career. It portrays how Bob Marley’s wife, Rita, played by Lashana Lynch, was shot while preparing for one of Bob Marley’s biggest concerts. The concern was brought to him, and he decided to move them to America to be safe. The big deal with this was that it was the Jamaican men who tried to hurt Marley and his family, and this was very detrimental to Bob Marley’s mental health and trust in his people.

One Love is truly a one-of-a-kind movie separating itself from the other movies over his life, such as “Marley,” released in 2012, and “Land of Look Behind,” released in 1982. People say the main difference between the new movie and the others was the amazing acting done by Ben-Adir. The character of Bob Marley is very hard to play, from the accent to the pure, unique style, but it was shown that he was ready to take on the part when as other reviewers have said, “When I was watching the movie, I felt like I was watching Bob Marley.”

The “One Love” movie is a great movie to watch with friends and family. It shows the unique life of Bob Marley and his culture. The theatrics and humor of the film made it feel like the real Bob Marley was acting in it and that you were actually in Jamaica going through the difficulties with them.
