Puerto Rican rapper and singer, Bad Bunny, performed during the Super Bowl halftime show on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Bad Bunny’s performance marks the first Spanish-language artist to execute the show solo, as well as the youngest performer to headline the show.
Bad Bunny currently has a total of six Grammy Awards, three of which were acquired during the 2026 ceremony.
Bad Bunny’s full performance setlist was “Titi Me Pregunto,” “Yo Perreo sola,” “Safaera,” “Party,” “Voy a Llevarte Pa’ PR,” “EoO,” “Monaco,” and “Die with a Smile” (feat. Lady Gaga).
The set-up for the halftime show involved hundreds of people dressed up as grass. The opening of the show began with a wide shot of people working in sugar cane fields, the camera then panned down to show Bad Bunny singing “Tití Me Preguntó.” Sugar cane is very important in many Caribbean countries, including Puerto Rico. Starting the halftime show with sugar-cane fields references a common image associated with rural Puerto Rican life.
While Bad Bunny was still singing “Tití Me Preguntó,” he passed many scenes, one of those being a piragua stand, which is Puerto Rican shaved ice. A piragua stand is an icon of Puerto Rican culture signaling community and nostalgia.
During the show, the worker at the stand serves Bad Bunny a treat before he continues singing and walking. Each glass bottle of piragua syrup on the cart featured a different flag, including Colombia, Spain, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
Throughout the performance there are many references to Puerto Rico, but towards the end of the show, Bad Bunny and many others carry flags of every country and territory in America. Bad Bunny then shouts “God bless America!”
He then showed the football he had been carrying on and off throughout his performance to the camera to show the words “Together we are America.” He then said “Seguimos aqui” translating to “we’re still here.” This phrase was a powerful rebuke to the controversy about Bad Bunny not being American enough to perform at the SuperBowl.
The SuperBowl halftime show was intended to be fully Spanish. However, pop artist Lady Gaga appeared to sing “Die With a Smile” in English. Along with this, many people entirely skipped Bad Bunny’s performance to watch Turning Point USA’s “All American” half time show performed by Kid Rock.
History teacher Tyler Gaumer said, “The halftime show was great. I didn’t understand everything that was said but it was an incredible vibe.”
The Superbowl half time show stirred up some conflict but at the end of the day, Bad Bunny’s performance was a hit for those who enjoy him and his music.
