The fantasy series “Percy Jackson and The Olympians” on Disney+, written by Rick Riordan and Johnathan E. Steinberg, recently aired season two.
This show stars Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. Important side characters consist of Clarisse La Rue, played by Dior Goodjohn, and Luke Castallan, played by Charlie Bushnell. The show is based on the original 5-book series “”Percy Jackson.””
The first season of the series was released on December 19, 2023. Recently, season two was released on December 10, 2025. Every week a new episode was released and all episodes are out and streaming now.
The show follows the plot of the books as in the first season 12-year-old Percy Jackson finds out he is a demigod, claimed by Poseidon, who arrives at Camp Half Blood that holds all Demigods. Jackson is then accused by Zeus of stealing the master bolt. Jackson is sent on a quest with Chase and Underwood to find the true thief to prevent a war between the Gods, with many twists in between. We are left with a few major cliffhangers to end season one, setting up season two perfectly.
Season two begins with the arrival of the characters back at camp where Jackson learns the barrier around camp is breaking, to save camp he has to sail across the sea of monsters, a dangerous voyage to complete. This season reveals new characters, rising threats to the characters’ fate, and new perspectives for Jackson and his friends. This season features more action and adventure compared to season one. Once more we are left with questions and an intense ending scene.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season one hit the top charts quickly with 13.3 million streams within the first six days of streaming. Streaming on Disney+ and Hulu now! This show is the most-watched non-Marvel or Star Wars series on the platform. Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been in Disney’s top charts ever since the first season streaming, constantly ranking number 1 or in the top 5. Once season two was released, it quickly hit Disney’s number 1 spot again. This hit show has had 36 award nominations and 17 wins including Outstanding Young Teen Series.
Season three has been confirmed, filming now, expected to wrap in March and will be released in late 2026. Even though season four hasn’t been greenlit by Disney, it is in early script writing production.
Overall, this show is a very popular hit, especially among teenagers and I believe that it is an amazing show for your next watch if you are a fan of Greek mythology, adventure, and fantasy.
