The Golden Warriors are off to a hot start this school year with each sport having its own accomplishments. Transitioning from fall sports to winter sports and now preseasons for spring sports, the Golden Warriors are projected to finish on a high note not only in the classroom but also on the court, fields, and mats.
Coming off a great finish last year, the girl’s basketball team is projected to continue playing at a high level and finish high in the conference after winning conference last year and finishing in the Elite 8 during the post season.
Junior Joslyn Green said, “I predict that we aren’t going to lose anymore conference games and go really far in the post season.”
With seven seniors, the GBB team has a lot of passion and drive to go far this season, said many of the girls.
Senior Alivia Gibson also said, “My prediction for the rest of the season is that we are going to grow as a team and hopefully make it past regionals.”
For the first time, the Golden Warriors have their first girls only wrestling team. Predictions for this first monumental season is that they grow a foundational team and will only go up from here in the years to come.
Junior Kylie Tate said, “I think we’re going to move into bigger competition and come up on top if we just keep putting work in the weight room.”
Losing key players for the boys basketball team has been a challenge but they have continued to grow and build a foundation for the years to come with having a mainly underclassmen team.
Junior Jack Saathoff said, “We will probably finish the season with ten wins and win regionals and I hope that we build chemistry on the team for next year.”
This year marks a year where many of our sports teams will start and continue to build for the following years after losing the class of 2025 as well as this year’s seniors.
