Student of the Month is awarded to two students every month who are hard working and tremendous role models throughout the school and community. In the month of October, seniors Paige Geil and Dale Guerrieri achieved this recognition.

With a 4.23 GPA, Geil has taken many accelerated classes and AP courses. Some accelerated classes she was enrolled in were accelerated English 1 and 2, accelerated chemistry and biology, accelerated geometry and algebra, and more. She has taken AP Human Geography, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and many more.

Geil has many achievements and awards. She has high honor roll, rotary excellence (for all years) and was nominated for Congress of Future Medical Leaders (through a Harvard group). She is also a part of the National Honor Society.

Geil is a part of many activities here at Sterling High School. She has been a part of the swim team all four years. She received the Most improved swim award and Sectional team for all four years. Geil was captain of the swim team this year. She is a part of the Young Doctors’ League, student council, madrigals, choir, robotics, and in many of the school musicals. She was voted for 2022 class president. She is the president of the Young Doctors’ League and administrator of robotics.

Outside of school, Geil is involved throughout the community. In her church, she is a part of the music ministry and she serves the altars. She volunteers at Hospice Home during her service learning class and she helps the Feed the Service organization. Her hobbies include music, swimming, running leisurely, biking, traveling, studying new topics, and piano.

She plans to attend a four-year university with a major in biological sciences. She is undecided on which university. After the four-years, she hopes to attend medical school. After all of the schooling, she wants to work in the neonatology field.

Guerrieri has worked hard for his GPA of 4.32. He has been enrolled in many different accelerated and AP courses. He has taken accelerated English, algebra, geometry, world history, chemistry, and biology. AP classes include AP Human Geography, AP Biology, AP Language and Composition, AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus.

Throughout high school, Guerrieri has received many awards and has achieved many things. He was Freshman student of the month, Rotary Excellence Program Scholar three times, AP Scholar, and honor roll.

Guerrieri is involved in an assortment of activities at Sterling High School. Freshman through junior years, he was on the basketball team and received the Most Improved Award. All four years of high school, he has played golf and baseball. His senior year, Guerrieri earned the individual sectional qualifier for golf and he was the varsity golf captain.

In his free time, Guerrieri loves to go fishing, water and snow ski, weightlift, and work on old cars. His future plans are to attend a four-year college. He will most likely major in engineering.

These two students are a great example of how to excel and be successful throughout the community and school. Congratulations to the two students who were chosen for October’s Students of the Month.
