After three years of waiting, Star Wars fans have finally been recompensed with a new season of  “The Mandalorian.”

The first episode of the season was released March 1st and it will be followed by eight more, with one coming out every Wednesday until April 19.

As previously announced, Gina Cerano, who played Cara Dune, will no longer be in the show. Her role has been substituted by an increased appearance in the returning role of Mandalorian Bo-Katan Kryze, played by Kaytee Sackoff.

In the new episodes, the main character, Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, has successfully redeemed himself as a Mandalorian by bathing in the living waters of the Mines of Mandalore. He was joined by his favored companion, Grogu, who had returned to him after some time training with jedi knight Luke Skywalker.

Bo-Katan too, has redeemed herself by unintentionally bathing in the waters after trying to save the Mandalorian from what she believed to be a Mythhosore, which were thought to be mythical creatures of Mandalorian lore.

The Mandalorian finds a new objective in locating IG-series droid parts to restore the original droid designed to protect Grogu. He visits Nevarro and sees that it has changed since his last visit. The Mandalorian finds that this droid’s parts are rare and no longer being manufactured, making the task harder than anticipated. Greef Karga, played by Carl Weathers, who was once leader of Nevarro’s Bounty Hunter Guild and a rival to the Mandalorian, has now proved himself a great ally to the Mandalorian. After driving away the previous season’s main antagonist, Moff Gideon, played by Giancarlo Esposito, Karga changed the criminal-dense planet to a prosperous, peaceful society. But Gideon’s permanent disappearance is not assured thus far.

The Mandalorian spends more time with his mandalorian clan, hidden in caves, along with Bo-Katan and Grogu. Here, Grogu trains with the other younglings and learns the way of the mandalorian.

A new villain has introduced himself to the world of the Mandalorian. Gorian Shard, played by Nonso Anozie, is leader of a space pirate clan who used to do business in Nevarro and is unhappy with the new changes it has developed. His large army of pirates will prove a large threat to the people of Nevarro.

A new storyline has also been introduced focusing on returning characters Dr. Pershing, played by Omid Abtahi, and Elia Kane, who is played by Katy M. O’Brian, both worked for the Imperial Army, and are now trying to become working members of the New Republic.

To those worried that this is the last addition to the series, season four has already been written by creator Jon Favreau. Don’t miss the final episode on Disney+ this Wednesday and look out for the new spinoff series, “Ahsoka.”
