As Halloween approaches, many are starting to plan their costumes. Whether you are looking for a solo, duo, or group costume there are many different things you could be. There are also a wide variety of genres to choose from like scary, funny, historical, animals, or characters.
One idea that has been trending this year is dressing as cute bugs. Some may include lady bugs, bumble bees, or butterflies. Junior Kloe Foreman said “My friends and I are dressing as bugs and it is a super easy and cute idea that we all love.”
Animals have also become a popular simple costume. A few examples include cheetahs, cats, deer, bunnies, mice and leopards.
For solo costumes, you can be almost anything.
Senior Ellie Kested said, “I’m being a Victoria Secret Angel. My costume is very last minute and I got the idea off Pinterest.”
Using apps like Pinterest, Tik Tok and Instagram are great ways to find cute and unique halloween costumes!
Another route you could go is characters. You could pick any character from one of your favorite movies or tv shows and make it into a costume. Paddington, Indiana Jones, Dorothy, Spiderman, Harry Potter, and Tinkerbell are just a few examples of characters that can easily be made into a costume.
Going trick or treating with a group of friends can be so fun, especially when you have a good group costume. A few ideas for groups could include Marvel Heroes, Mario Kart characters, Minions, Scooby Doo characters, pirates, beanie babies, Trolls characters or cops and prisoners. You can get so creative with all of these ideas or also just keep it simple.
Duo costumes can also be so creative and so much fun. Mike and Sully, Nemo and Dory, mermaids, hippies, FBI agents, Dora and Boots, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, subway surfers and Sharkboy and Lava girl are some of my favorite duo costumes.
Lastly, if you want to go for a more historical vibe there are many ways to go about that as well. You could be Cleopatra, King Tut, Amelia Earhart, Queen Elizabeth, Rosie the Riveter, A greek god, Hamilton, or even a caveman.
These are just a few of the many diverse and unique costumes out there. Halloween is the perfect holiday to have fun and express yourself so don’t be afraid to be whatever you want this Halloween.
