Apple has come up with two different updates for the iPhone. The iPhone 17 has been released for purchase at all Apple stores. The iPhone 26 update has been released to all the recent phones with the glass and AI updates.
The new screen for the update is glass-like, with seamless edges around icons and the screen’s corners. Lock screen editing has been updated and improved. There are more app customization opportunities and see-through glass looks on the app groups and the bottom tab of the home screen.
With this new update the iPhone “moves smoothly, bubbly” as senior Madison Stern described it. The update also has new app appearances that brought back nostalgic memories for old iPhone users.
The clock app has been reverted back to the old stopwatch look. The app-store icon was updated to appear smoother. The iPhone not only looks new but it feels new.
Senior Izaiah Lopez said, “It reminds me of when I had the older iPhone versions as a kid but keeps the newer look.”
With the update, a lot of iPhone users have mixed feelings about it. While some users praise the seamless look and smoother performance, some are reporting issues like sluggish experience, app crashes, visual glitches, and poor battery life.
In an announcement released by Apple itself, it’s said that most battery life, app crashes, and sluggish experiences not only happen in every other update, but they happen due to older phones using newer versions of the software.
The iPhone 17 has had mixed ratings as well with limited color options, not much variation from the basic version 17, and a high cost for Pro and Air models. Other users say that the build of the phone is strong, the camera is excellent: using wide cameras and taking higher quality photos, the design is sturdy, and the performance is impressive compared to past phones.
These new versions of the iPhone via update and the physical phone obviously have mixed reviews but with every new update comes new flaws in systems and softwares on phones so this is nothing new. The phones are an overall great purchase to make if you’d like to have a high-performance and seamless experience while using your phone.
