After much anticipation, the “Dancing with the Stars” season 34 cast was finally announced on September 3rd. “Dancing with the Stars” can be viewed on Disney+ or ABC, and the first episode will be aired on September 6th at 8 p.m.
“Dancing with the Stars” is a reality dance competition where each season, professional ballroom dancers are paired with celebrities and perform a choreographed dance each week. The first episode aired in 2005 and since then has been a huge hit world wide.
Typically, there are about 10 episodes that are released during each season and each episode lasts around two hours. Each episode has its own special twist; the pairs are given certain themes to go off of which creates a fun challenge that pushes the dancers to become more creative with their choreography and music.
Senior Ellie Kested said, “Personally my favorite part of the show is seeing the celebrities gain confidence in their dancing throughout the season and of course finding out who wins at the end!”
This year’s cast members include Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik, Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, Baron Davis and Britt Stewart, Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson, Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov, Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten, Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold, Robert Irwin and Whitney Carson, Lauren Jauregui and Brandon Armstrong, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas, and Andy Richter and Emma Slater.
PE teacher Alexis Ruiz said, “I am super excited to watch this season of ‘Dancing with the Stars!’ I think the celebs are super strong this season and the competition is going to be tough. Since they come from so many different professions and backgrounds, it is always so fun to see what they will bring to the show. I am rooting for Val & Alix!
