Senior Cole Stumpenhorst officially committed to Roosevelt University for track and field.
Stumpenhorst will get another opportunity to show his skills and keep competing, showing all the work he has put into off-season training has paid off.
Stumpenhorst has decided to double major in vocal performance as a classical tenor and earn a degree in music education at Roosevelt University, a Division II college in Chicago, Illinois. The school has a great vocal performance program, and the facility has constructive and supportive people. Stumpenhorst is thrilled to attend this college.
Stumpenhorst’s efforts have been exceptional throughout his time in high school.
Head coach Kel Bond said, “Cole is a great leader and he continues to thrive every meet, even when he isn’t at his best. He has been consistent throughout his high school track seasons. I wish him the best of luck for his college career.”
Stumpenhorst is ready to take his success to the next level at Roosevelt University.
“I am grateful for my entire family supporting me in singing and giving me all the tools I need to succeed,” Stumpenhorst said, “Also, my coaches and teachers for giving me guidance.”
Stumpenhorst appreciates the efforts of those who have supported him but also knows that he had to dedicate himself to achieving success.
Stumpenhorst shared, “My senior year is a culmination of all the work that I have put into both track and singing.”
Stumpenhorst still has one more goal in mind for the year.
“I want to run at state for track and field in more than one event for the last time and have fun with my friends,” shared Stumpenhorst.
Stumpenhorst states, “Roosevelt is a top-10 opera school, and they gave me a really good first-year scholarship offer for track and classical voice.”
Wishing Stumpenhorst much success in his future endeavors!
