The final high school choir concert of 2025 will take place on May 13, in the auditorium. This will also include the band and orchestra members as well.
Choir students have been working hard on their music pieces, as they started preparing for this concert in February. They have many fun and different pieces of music they will be singing that students are very excited to perform.
There are three choir classes this year, which is different from the usual two classes that there were in previous years. This year there is a freshman choir, sophomore choir, and junior and senior combined choir. This is because there were many freshmen and sophomores who wanted to participate in choir, so they had to make two different classes for them.
Each choir will sing two different pieces of music and then all students will sing a piece of music together. This year the combined piece is a combination of songs from the movie “La La Land.”
Students are excited to sing this combined piece of music, as it is a very popular and well liked movie.
Senior Owen Gaffey said, “La La Land is my favorite movie so finding out that we were singing songs from the movie was exhilarating.”
Choir students can’t wait to perform these pieces of music that they have worked so hard to perfect.
Sophomore Sadie Hendrix said she “really had to focus on diction and making sure the audience can understand all the words for these pieces.”
I would definitely recommend attending this final choir concert and supporting the work that these students put into their music.
