Easter calls for fun filled Easter activities like Easter Bunny pictures at the mall, decorating eggs, and Easter egg hunts are all fun activities to partake in during this Easter season.
Recently, S.H.S. Prom committee members hosted an Easter egg hunt. S.H.S. Prom committee member Mia Rodriguez organized this event with the help of other committee members such as committee leader Gavin Fischer and members Margaret Wittenaur, Carlee Hawkins, Alexis Rosas, and Macie Lofgren.
This event was hosted at Jefferson Elementary School, costing $5 per family. There were two different egg hunts depending on the children’s age and in addition to the egg hunt there was face painting, raffle baskets, and photos with the Easter bunny.
Junior event organizer Mia Rodrigues said, “The event was so much fun, especially seeing all the kids’ smiles and happiness.”
The event was very successful with the committee making a total of $529, with all proceeds going to the junior class to help fund this year’s prom for items like paint, glitter, and other materials needed for props and decorations.
Junior prom committee leader Gavin Fischer said, “The Easter egg hunt was a huge success! We had roughly 100+ elementary families attend and could not be more happy with the outcome as we only expected to make a quick $200, but doubled it instead.”
Prom is a stressful and a costly time that calls for a lot of help and fundraising, and this event did just that. The S.H.S. Prom committee will be busy the next two weeks as prom approaches with preparing last minute decorations and events.
Prom is a team effort from all committee members whether they are helping paint props, promoting ticket sales, posting on social media, or organizing events like the Easter egg hunt.
Thanks to the S.H.S. Prom committee, prom is sure to be a fun and successful event.
