April 9 is approaching quickly which marks an important day for all juniors. All juniors are required to take the ACT or in previous years, the SAT.
This test is a measurement test to see where all juniors are at and what they have obtained throughout their most important years in high school. These scores are commonly used on college applications so if college is in the cards for you, then you will want to ensure you are fully prepared for the big day.
For starters, being on time is the most important key. Be up early, be comfortable, and don’t be in a rush because this will cause unnecessary stress come test time.
To ensure your time management, go to bed at a reasonable time the night before and ensure you are fully rested. Additionally, make sure you eat a good breakfast as this may affect your testing abilities.
The past few months, many classes have been assigning materials to help prepare juniors for the big day.
Moreover students can also study days prior or the night before to ensure you know what you will be tested over. Things like flashcards, Quicklets, Blookets, and Kahoots are all effective and helpful studying tools.
Junior Lilliana Cantu said, “I’ve been practicing a lot on my math and English skills so I’m well prepared for the test.”
Although this is a big testing point for students, once it’s over students will be relieved and can even begin to prepare college applications.
Things like working out, getting coffee, or an energy drink, may help relieve stress before going in for testing.
Junior Mackenzie Wolfe says, “I plan to get Starbucks before testing so I am calm and not stressed out.”
Once testing is over, juniors will finish out the rest of the school year with ease.
