Now that we are starting 2025 and leaving 2024 behind, it is now time to reflect on the ins and outs of last year. A list has been formed of the top 10 ins and outs of last year, ranging from clothing, trends, drinks, water bottles, and more. 

Top 10 ins:

1. The rise of Owala water bottles took 2024 by storm with the unique colors and bottle design, Owala’s were becoming more popular. 
2. In recent years, thrifting has been a good alternative to go shopping for clothes at a cheaper price.
3. Jeans without holes had gained popularity due to fashion trends throughout the year. 
4. In 2020-2022 the fashion was full of color and elaborate patterns, but in recent years simple and comfy clothing have been popular instead of being so bright. 
5. Although we have moved away from the funky colors and fun patterns, Animal print has continued to be trendy and fashionable. 
6. During Halloween most people’s costumes consisted of corset tops. These tops have been used in many different costumes. 
7. Natural makeup was big in 2024, with all the makeup brands becoming more simplistic, so was the makeup being applied. 
8. In 2024 adding bows onto different items was admired by many people, and also became a trend loved by lots.
9. Linen pants were one of the items that came back, and it is now worn in numerous ways that look nice. 
10. In recent years simple prom dresses have been popular. On TikTok, people wore silk dresses, plain dresses without gems, glitter, or jewels.   

Top 10 outs: 

1. Stanley has been popularized based on their colors, shapes, and aesthetic. The hype around then has faded, and Stanley cups have been outshined by other competitors such as Owala. 
2. Fast fashion has been a problem for years, due to the waste of clothing bought from places like Shein, where clothing is purchased in large quantities, but at a cheap price. 
3. Impulsive buying is not a good way to keep your money. People have now been more responsible with their money and focused on saving. 
4. From boring colors, to simple decor, minimalism is no longer favorable to the recent generations.
5. Over consumption is another big problem in recent years. Many of the items bought from stores that were trendy, but then are showing up at Goodwills. 
6. Micro trends are pointless, and are an indicator on how fast people need a new trend to follow. 
7. Like impulsive buying, unnecessary spending is another aspect that was focused on. 
8. Uncomfy clothing was normalized, because your outfit was cute so it didn’t matter if it was uncomfortable. In 2024 people started to drift to clothing that was still stylish, yet comfy.  
9. Although photo dumps are interesting to look at, sometimes they are unnecessary and sometimes boring. 
10. Random social media apps have been popping up left and right. Leaving those behind was for the better for phone storage and less distractions.
