The 2024-2025 Sterling High School class officers for this year have been elected. Class officers will be in charge of fundraising money for their class.
Senior Class Officers
The senior class of 2025 class officers are President Adamari Guiterrez, and Officers Merrick “Delali” Amankwa, Patrick Riley, and Eleanor Aitken. The class of 2025 advisor is English teacher Jennifer Drew.
Senior class President Guiterrez has been a class officer for three years. She has wanted to be involved with all class activities since she was in her first year of high school but she wanted to be president. She stated, “I especially wanted to be president in order to create events for seniors to enjoy.”
Junior Class Officers
The junior class of 2026 class officers are President Gavin Fischer, Vice President Avery Moran, Secretary Leila Anderson, and Treasurer Adylyn Crandall. Their class advisor is class parent Cristy Fischer.
Something different President Gavin Fischer is doing is bringing back student-led prom planning. For the past five years the junior parents have been planning prom. Fischer said, “I feel very confident with the juniors taking over prom because I have a very helpful team of 25.” He also stated it’s been a “very exciting process”.
Sophomore Class Officers
The sophomore class of 2027 class officers are President Fareeda Alkhalf, Vice President Jaz’Mya Castaneda, Secretary Trinity Pankey, and Treasurer Averielle Molina. Their class advisor is librarian Sira Gaffey.
President Alkhalaf states her goal as a class officer is to “represent my graduating class” and “along with other officers, plan school events and ensure my class is raising enough money.”
Freshman Class Officers
The freshman class of 2028 class officers are President Sofia Georgieva, Vice President Mya Nanniga, Secretary Chad Bennet, and Treasurer Micah Peterson. Their class advisor is English teacher Lauren Fritz.
Freshman President Georgieva mentioned “taking responsibility as freshman class president means to represent my class and make sure their interests and opinions are heard.” Her goal is “to leave a positive impact by organizing events, helping the school and community.”
Class officers are on a good start with many organized fundraisers that are ongoing, upcoming, or completed. Keep a lookout for your graduating class so you can help support them.
