Seniors are celebrating the bittersweet end of their high school careers with their upcoming senior sunset event. This will take place on the Roscoe Eds Stadium turf on May 7, from seven to nine p.m. Senior sunset is planned by senior class president Adamari Gutierrez and class officers Merrick Amankwa, Eleanor Aitken, and Patrick Riley.
Pizza and drinks will be provided and no outside drinks will be allowed. Students are asked to bring dessert if their last names start with A-G or chips if their last names are from H-Z.
For all seniors, this event represents the last chance for them to come together as a class before graduation. For Gutierrez, senior sunset “is an event where all seniors can get together and be nostalgic. As class president, seeing my whole class just enjoy each other’s company and be united makes me super happy!”
If you plan on going to senior sunset, it is recommended to wear Sterling High School apparel, especially with 2025 on it. At the end of senior sunset, a group picture will be taken so matching will show unity as a class.
While some seniors might be nervous for this significant event, Gutierrez is “not really nervous, just more so emotional about the year coming to an end and the fact I may never see some of my peers again.”
To senior William Ports senior sunset is “one last hooray before we are all out of high school for the last time.”
Senior class advisor Jennifer Drew said, “Last year was my first year as senior class advisor and I chose to do so because I really wanted to help organize senior-only events for the graduating class. I’m glad that I can help advise them and be a part of some of their high school memories.”
Senior sunset is an important event for seniors in their last year of high school and seniors will get the opportunity to make memories that will last forever.
