Finals for Sterling High School are coming up as this semester comes to an end. Many students often dread this time of the year due to the immense stress that comes with the end of each semester.
While these tests can be overwhelming, winter break is right around the corner. This season, winter break lasts from December 23 until January 3.
The schedule for this semester’s finals are on Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday, December 19. The first day will include the odd numbers of class periods. Classes first, third, fifth, and seventh hour will be testing. The next day even numbers will be testing, so second, fourth, and sixth hour classes will be testing.
However not every student has to take all of their finals, if you meet the following requirements you may opt out of one of your finals. You must have all A’s, B’s, and C’s, have no more than 26 missed class periods this semester (roughly 3.5 days), and have zero referrals given throughout the semester.
Also, you need to be currently earning at least an 80% in the course you pick at the time you submit this form. No exceptions will be made.
You will receive an exemption link via email if you qualify. You must complete the exemption link by three pm on Wednesday, December 11th. Sharing this link with students who don’t qualify will result in losing your exemption as well as receiving a discipline referral.
If you happen to not receive this email due to missed class periods, you can stop by the office and pick up a community service form to earn back your exemption.
All seniors who meet the eligibility criteria in the spring will be exempt from all of their exams and get out of school a few days early in May of 2025.
Make sure to study for all of your tests and good luck on your exams next week.
