This year to raise money for the junior prom, junior class president and prom committee leader Gavin Fischer came up with a cookie dough fundraiser and the Factory Sunday showdown.
The first fundraiser is the Factory Sunday Showdown. This will be hosted at the Factory Pub and Grub in Sterling, on November 17, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fischer brought this idea to the junior class parents to help set up and organize since this is a parent-only event. As the Bears vs. Packers game is playing at this event, there will be many raffles going on. The food tickets will be $15 dollars, $20 dollars for an arm length of tickets and $10 dollars for football squares.
Counselor Cami Hartman added, “We don’t have a set dollar amount we are hoping to make, but we hope it is a big success!”
The second fundraiser being planned is the cookie dough kickoff on November 19 at 3 p.m. This fundraiser will go on until December 1. To start this off, every junior prom committee member will come together on November 19 and have a text blast to all of their contacts to persuade them to buy cookie dough. This fundraiser has also been a big help for other sports in the past.
Junior Prom leader Gavin Fischer added, “This is a great opportunity for us to raise money since everyone has to love cookie dough”
Over the past couple of months, Fischer has already planned and done other fundraisers such as selling clear bags and concessions. After these two major fundraisers, Fischer’s mom, Christy Fischer will be in charge of the Culver’s share night. This will also be done with every prom committee member present.
Planning and fundraising will continue up until May with the help of all prom committee members and parents involved.
