As they wrapped up the 2024 soccer season, the Golden Warrior boys soccer team moved their way into the postseason. The team ended their season with a conference record of 8-14.
The boys started their season at the Oregon Hawk Classic Invite, where they won against East Peoria with a score of 5-0 and against Orion with a score of 2-0. They ended their season by playing against Sycamore High School where they lost with a score of 0-4.
The team moved on to play against Orion for their Regional Quarterfinals. They played on October 19, 2024, where they scored four goals during the intense game. The first goal was scored by junior Anthony Rosas. Rosas played a great role in this year’s soccer season, where he scored five goals for the varsity boys’ soccer team throughout the season.
Continuing through the game, the boys scored an additional three points before the final buzzer solidified their spot into the semifinals, where they then played against Dunlap.
During their game against Dunlap, they were ready for a good game with high spirits. Unfortunately for them, the game did not go smoothly, as they lost with a score of 0-7. The boys played hard as a team for their last soccer game of the season.
Senior Jubraan Alkhalaf says that he, “felt confident [in] my teammates and I after our first win but we unluckily drew a top 20 team in the state so that was quite defeating.”
The boys had a great season with many memories they can look back on.
Sophomore Kevin Ruiz says that his favorite memory is “beating LP. It’s always fun beating them because it’s always competitive.”
This season had their highs and lows, but these boys played strong, hard, and as a team
