“Smile 2,” a horror movie directed by Parker Finn, came to theaters Friday, October 18. Actress Naomi Scott plays the main character, Skye Riley, a pop superstar.
“Smile” is about a parasite that plants ideas in its host’s brain to cause them great fear. “Smile 2” has been very successful and popular so far.
“Smile” and “Smile 2” show that the parasite makes the host see and do horrible things that no one else can see. The audience is constantly wondering what is reality and what is just a vision. The parasite is passed on, one person after the other.
After about a week of being the host, the parasite will kill the host but make it look like they themselves did it. The witness of this is then the new host. The only way to get rid of the parasite is to be killed by something other than the parasite before the parasite kills you.
“Smile 2” is rated R for suicide, graphic violence, and drug use. It is very gory but also includes a lot of inappropriate language. This movie is thrilling with many exciting twists and turns, “Smile 2” will not leave you bored for a second.
Critic Kristen Maldonado enjoyed the movie and called Scott a “scream queen on the rise. Between her blood-curdling screams and the realistic terror behind her eyes, this is a career-best performance for the actress.”
However, this movie is not for everyone; anyone who scares easily or doesn’t like the sight of blood may be very disturbed by “Smile 2.” Some people are even bored by it, and believe it was drawn out and not that scary.
Top critic Kristen Lopez described “Smile 2” as “a boring, generic genre with a runtime so bloated you’ll start to wonder if everyone just forgot what film they were making.”
Overall, “Smile 2” got good reviews and is becoming more and more popular. If you like scary movies, I would definitely recommend going out to see this movie.
