Doing community service is a great way to get rid of your detention hours if you need to. There are many ways and options to serve them, and here are some ways to complete them.
Students can do homework in the office or with a teacher for as long as you need. You can also service learning for a teacher.
You can also help a custodian with trash or just help around the school with cleaning. Doing this actually helps you with hours and the school with basic cleaning. If you go to a school event, you could be with a supervisor and stay there with them to help if it is offered at the school event. You can also go to any local event involving our school and our supervisors. Getting proof that you were there can reduce your detention hours.
There are many reasons students should want to serve detention hours.
Dean of Students Alexandra Miller said, “Students should serve their detention hours because they serve as a consequence for a discipline referral. Having unserved detention hours prevents students from enjoying various school events.”
The reason they do not allow students to attend any school events is because it encourages them to do their detention hours so they can finally do something with their friends or to at least have fun. For example, if you want to go into a football game, you have to enter your code, and if you still have hours you have to leave and getting caught means you will face disciplinary actions.
Some students prefer to sit in the office to serve their detention hours.
Associate Principal Benjamin Schott shared, “The most common way people serve is by serving with a teacher or in the main office.”
In conclusion the greatest way to get rid of your detention hours is community service. There are many options and ways to complete community service acts.
