Since its a new school year Sterling High School has new and returning clubs for the student body. S.H.S. has 15 different clubs available for all. There is a wide range of clubs for students to join.

- Ping pong club

- Where the Club Meets: Room 313
- Day and Time Club Meets: M-F 2:15-3:15
- Purpose of Club: A great way to meet new people and compete in a low-stakes environment. No previous skill required.
- Student Council
- Club Advisor: Nicole Schelmmer and Alexis Ruiz
- Where the Club Meets: Mrs. Schlemmer’s room
- Day and Time Club Meets: Meet every other Monday during 8th hour
- Purpose of Club: The club provides a wide variety of events for the SHS student body and community.
- Ping pong club
- Senior Adamari Gutierrez says, “I first joined stuco because of my friends! They were in it and they convinced me to join and I don’t regret it.”

- Where the Club Meets: Library classroom 3.
- Day and Time Club Meets: Meet once a month before school from 7:15-7:50
- Purpose of Club: Provides students interested in the medical field with an opportunity to listen to a variety of medical experts. New speaker each month.
- Young Doctors League
- Senior Patrick Riley first joined YDL because he “felt that getting as much exposure was important! It is crucial to get exposure so you know what you like it or not.”

- Where the Club Meets: Room 141
- Key Club
- Day and Time Club Meets: Tuesdays at either 7:30 a.m. or 2:15 p.m.
- Purpose of Club: Key Club in an internationally recognized community service club that highlights student leadership and personal growth through acts of service. Students lead multiple projects throughout the year with the help of the Sterling Kiwanis club.

- Travel Club

- No official meetings but the club goes on around four trips each year!
- Purpose of the club: Explore history, culture, and natural wonders of the world near and far. Museums, state parks, escape rooms, and the state capitol are highlights from past travels.
- The club is going to Boston in June of 2025.
- Travel Club
- “I have always really enjoyed traveling and I thought it would be fun to do so with some of my peers,” says senior Eleanor Aitken.

- Day and Time Club Meets: Meet once a month during 8th hour (typically the 2nd Tuesday of each month).
- Purpose of Club: The club celebrates reading. The activities are student directed.
- Future Educators Club

- Where the Club Meets: Library classroom 1
- Day and Time of Club: Meet once a month during 8th hour (typically on Mondays).
- Purpose of Club: This club is for students who are interested in a career working with children.
- Junior Gavin Fischer has “wanted to be a teacher since he was a kid, he was very that a club was created for students like himself, who actually enjoy school and are excited about the process of learning and teaching.”
- GSA

- Where the Club Meets: Library Classroom 1
- Day and Time Club Meets: 2nd Tuesday of each month in the library
- Purpose of Club: Provide a safe space of LGBTQ+ students and allies. Work to raise awareness and acceptance.
- BSU
- Club Advisor: Taylor Jackson
- Where the Club Meets: Room 202
- Day and Time Club Meets: Meet twice a month on the second and fourth Thursday of the month.
- Purpose of Club: The purpose is to give black and brown students a safe place to express themselves.
- Library Club
- Mrs. Jackson is proud to keep the club alive after Miss. Herron. The club helps ensure everyone has a safe space on campus.

- Purpose of the Club: The purpose of the club is to raise awareness within the school about mental health.
- Chess
- Club Advisor: Penne
- Where the Club Meets: Library Classroom 3
- Day and Time Club Meets: Meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15-4:15 p.m.
- Purpose of the Club: This club will teach you the game of chess and prepare you for IHSA competition.
- Robotics
- Club Advisor: Alexis Rivera
- Where the Club Meets: Robotics lab (room 163).
- Day and Time Club Meets: M,W, F from 5-7 p.m.
- Purpose of the Club: Through the school year this club works to build a 120 pound robot and then take that robot to competitions. They work on technology, engineering, and administrative skills.
- FFA
- Club Advisor: Megan Stanley
- Where the Club Meets: Room 136 or Ag. Mech Room
- Date and Time Club Meets: Typically meet once a month on Wednesday nights from 6-8 p.m.
- Purpose of the Club: FFA promotes AG literacy and shows us how we all are connected to agriculture.
- NAMI On-Campus Club
- Senior Kadielynn Nelson says, “I joined FFA as an opportunity to grow and help my agricultural community grow. Joining has provided me with new skills I didn’t have before and it has made me more involved in my community and gave me a new family.”

- Where the Club Meets: Room 141
- Date and Time Club Meets: Meet every Thursday from 2:55-4.
- Purpose of the Club: The club wants to learn the basics of crochet and knitting. They work to create independent projects with the help from adults and students.
- National Honor Society

- Where the Club Meets: Library Classroom 3
- Date and Time Club Meets: Second Tuesday of every month at 7:30
- Application only, only offered to juniors and seniors.

- Senior Lillian Reaver joined NHS because “she wanted to help her community and school as much as she could before she graduates.”
