The “We’ll all be here forever” tour is full of memories. On September 11, 2024, at Alpine Valley Theatre in East Troy Wisconsin, Noah Kahan, a folk-pop artist, held a concert to a sold- out crowd. Originally, this concert was supposed to be on July 13, 2024, but due to a storm the show was rescheduled.
Fast forward to September 11, the concert was finally held. Alpine Valley Theatre is a beautiful venue where lots of people tailgate before the concert, bonding over the concert and outfits. At 6:30, the gates opened to let people onto the lawn, which is free seating, so everyone is running to claim their spots.
At 8, opener Jensen McCrae came out and performed some of her songs. She had great stage presence and her songs were similar to his Kahan’s music. Finally, Noah Kahan came out and delivered a beautiful performance. Everyone was up out of their seats singing along with him.
Kahan is very good at connecting with his crowd. He said at the beginning that “Y’all look too happy, I’m going to wipe those smiles right off your faces.”
Halfway through, Kahan left the main stage and went on a little stage that was closer to the lawn, where his guitar broke so while waiting for another one he was talking with his crowd. He got a bracelet from a fan telling them to chuck it right at his face. He also then went on to eating a cookie someone made him.
Throughout the concert, Kahan never took big breaks, just small ones to switch his guitar and to get water. He just kept going and the audience kept the energy up. After he performed one of his hit songs, “Northern Attitude,” he thanked the crowd as if the concert was over, and then went off stage for a while. Some people left thinking that was the end of the concert but he came back out and performed five more songs which led to many people missing out on part of the concert.
I wouldn’t say that the concert was a problem, I would say that the venue is more of the problem. Once you are inside the venue, you have no reception at all and every phone is on SOS. It is very hard to communicate with the people you come with and many never find the people that they came with and they get lost.
Kahan’s songs have a very strong message that hits right at home with a lot of people, which is why he is so popular. A presale ticket to be on the lawn was $75 but after the presale was done the tickets for the lawn were $275.
I would say that the concert is 100% worth it. Even without knowing Kahan’s music, I think people would enjoy the concert.
