The WACC CEO class has been preparing to unveil its array of products and services at the 2024 CEO Trade Show taking place on April 24 and 25.
In preparation for the trade show, students have been raising funds since the beginning of the year. One of their first tasks was to create a class business. The class chose to have a “Dinner With The Stars.” Students then made business pitches to members of the CEO Board asking for a sum of the money they raised. Students were required to do every step of creating the business by themselves. Towards the end of late April, the CEO Class will host their annual trade show, where the individual businesses can debut.
This year Sterling has five students participating in the class: Senior James Wadsworth, Junior Samantha Knox, Senior Joshua Minor, Junior Nora Truedson, and Senior Makaylee Pipes.
Wadsworth is creating natural baked dog treats. “I started this business because in case of an over abundance of goods, I can give them to my dogs,” said Wadsworth.
A key component of his business is simplicity, as his product consists of only three ingredients. Wadsworth is “nearly done with everything and [is] just waiting for the trade show. All [he needs] is [his] ingredients.”
Truedson is making a wax melt business. Her business has a personal touch. “I was inspired to create my business because me and my mom have shared a passion for candles and wax melts.”
She hopes to have her products prepared soon as well.
“I just need to make 15 batches to get to my goal of selling 600 wax melts,” shared Truedson
But wax melts are not all that Truedson plans to feature at her booth this year. “For my booth, I will have two display stands, one for my wax melts, and another for my melting pots.”
This year at the trade show there will be 31 total businesses. There will be a large array of products this year from some food for there or to go, flowers, home decor, jewelry, and even fishing lures.
The trade show will be hosted at the Northland Mall on April 24 and 25 from 4:30-7:30 and 4:30-6:30.
