Many at Sterling High School who are taking the SAT have realized that it is coming up fast. For those who are taking the SAT at S.H.S., it is April 10, 2024.
The biggest change coming to the SAT this year is that compared to last year the test was on paper; it is now digital. Along with the test moving from paper to digital, many changes are accompanied.
The two biggest changes with the digital test first is that the test is much shorter now, only being two hours. The second is that the test is now adaptive. Meaning that students will get a set amount of set questions and depending on how the student does on those questions the subsequent questions will be easier or harder depending on their score on the previous question.
With these big changes many in the junior class are asking what they can do to prepare for the test with Sterling adapting the new digital test. There are many options for studying that are available to students via their school emails.
Those include:
- SAT Student Guide
- SAT Test and Score Breakdown
- Khan Academy SAT Prep
- Digital SAT Changes – Overview
- Top 10 Test Taking Tips
The test will start at around 8 a.m. and students should be at the field house around 7:45 a.m. with fully charged MacBooks. Students are allowed to bring small drinks and snacks. However, students are not allowed to bring phones, smart watches, headphones, pen/pencils, books, scratch paper, and notebooks.
All junior students at S.H.S. are required to take the test in order to graduate. All students must stay until all students have completed their test. However, once the test is over all students have been called off for the rest of the school day. If a student misses the test, then the retake is April 18th.
Good luck with all of your studies and good luck with the test!
