Baseball:

Head Coach: Darwin Nettleton

Key Returners: Senior Garrett Polson, Junior Drew Nettleton, Junior Braden Birdsley, and Senior Dylan Ottens

Last year’s accomplishments: Made the regional championship game

Biggest Rivalries: Rock Falls and Newman

Senior Garrett Polson said, “I’m excited for my senior season and to go out and compete with my teammates.”

 

Softball:

Head Coach: Donnie Dittmar 

Key Returners: Senior Sienna Stingley, Sophomore Mya Lira, Senior Olivia Melcher, and Junior Kaitlyn Taylor  

Last year’s accomplishments: Regional Champions 

Biggest Rivalry: Newman and Geneseo 

Senior Olivia Melcher said, “I think the season will go really well. We have a strong offense and defense so I’m really excited for this season.”

 

Boys Track:

Head Coach: Kel Bond

Key Returners: Junior Joseph Holcomb, Senior Cale Ledergerber, Senior Dale Johnson, and Senior Mason Emin 

Last year’s accomplishments: Placed fourth at state meet, sectional champions, and second place in conference 

Biggest Rivalries: United Township and Dixon

Senior Mason Emin said, “I am really excited to see how this year goes. Despite losing some key senior athletes, we have multiple people returning that were a big part of the team last year.”

Girls Track:

Head Coach: Tyler Gaumer 

Key Returners: Senior Rhylee Wade, Senior Anna Aulwes, Junior Eleanor Aitken, and Junior Finley Ryan 

Last year’s accomplishments: Second at Sectionals, Made State Meet

Biggest Rivalries: Geneseo and Dixon

Junior Madeline Malooly said, “We are looking optimistic towards the season after a strong indoor season.”

Girls Soccer:

Head Coach: Raul Sanchez

Key Returners: Seniors Mireya Lopez and Michelle Diaz

Last year’s accomplishments: No significant accomplishments

Biggest Rivalries: Moline and Dixon

Senior Mireya Lopez said, “I really look forward to meeting new teammates and seeing how our team will improve this season. With the loss of 11 seniors we doubted our new season, but with everyone’s performances at practice, I can say with confidence that we’ll do better and make the most out of this season.”

 

Boys Tennis: 

Head Coach: Michael Gottemoller 

Key Returners: Seniors Brecken Peterson, Ben Boze, Yamaan Alkhalaf, and Iker Zaragoza

Last years accomplishments: Brecken Peterson made state tournament

Biggest Rivalries: Moline and Geneseo 

Senior Yamaan Alkhalaf said, “Though we graduated a lot of seniors last year, I think we will still have a great season nonetheless as many players worked hard in the offseason in order to ensure a successful season.”

Junior Jubraan Alkhalaf is a copy editor and has been in publications for one year. Jubraan does soccer, tennis, student council, young doctor's league, and is a junior class officer. Jubraan likes to play soccer and tennis in his free time. Jubraan plans to be a doctor after high school.
