Second semester just started so that means it is time to start studying for the upcoming exams. You may be asking yourself “How can I study? What are the dates? What should I study the most for?” Those questions should be answered soon.
Many students either push off studying or just forget. However, studying for just 20 minutes a day can be the difference from a two to a three or a three to a four. One of the best resources to study with is from the writers themselves at AP Classroom (https://myap.collegeboard.org/login).
AP Classroom posts daily videos for each unit that they will test over. Just by watching one of them a day to prepare at the beginning or if you are just starting now you are still absorbing information from the writers themselves. AP also posts past tests for students to use to study.
Junior Aliva Ruffin stated that “the AP videos helped her get a 3 on AP Biology last year!”
By taking practice tests you can see what was on past tests and see what the scorers want you to know.
You may be asking, how long do you have left to study? Here are the test dates for some of the AP classes that SHS offers

Now you might ask how did people do last year? What are the courses that I need to look out for the most?
From last year’s results, AP U.S. History was one of the hardest classes with only 48.3% of students passing with a three or higher. In AP Human Geography 53.2% of the people that took the class passed. AP Chemistry, AP Language and Composition, and AP Calculus AB also had only 54-55.7% of students get above the three threshold.
Knowing these percentages and taking into consideration your hardest AP class might differ from your friends; however, it seems that if you are in AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry, AP Human Geography, AP Language and Composition, and AP Calculus AB are the exams that students struggled with the most taking the exams last year. Junior Jubraan Alkhalaf stated that “AP Chemistry is going to be the hardest.”
Good luck with all of your studies and taking all of your exams!
