On September 9, 2023, Nike hosted their sixth annual SNKRS Day in London, England. The event included the release of many new shoes, as well as panels, and games for those attending. The event was available in the Nike SNKRS app. 

  The event was an important  day for the fashion industry as it led to the release of many new experimental shoes. The shoes that were officially released include Air Footscape Woven “Cow Print,” Air Jordan 1 Low “World Make Japan,” Air Max 1 Big Bubble “World Make Korea,” Air Max Plus “Pure Platinum,” and Nike Dunk Low “Midnight Navy.”

  Many sneaker fans enjoyed the event due to the new releases and abnormal designs. However, many were skeptical of the event. Shoes like Air Footscape Woven “Cow Print” were the most experimental drop of the day; there were many mixed reviews. 

  This event was Nike’s annual attempt to unite the sneaker community through a single event, and it worked. No matter where you were in the world, you could participate in the event by searching for new releases; all you need is the SNKRS app. 

  Although you cannot participate in the games or panels there in London, there still is a sense of unity. 

  SNKRS day is not Nike’s only shoe-designated day. Another popular day for sneakerheads is March 26, also known as Nike Air Max Day. Air Max Day celebrates the release of the Nike Air Max 1, and to celebrate, Nike releases new or vaulted Air Maxes on the day. 

  Although both are sneaker days, the goal is different. SNKRS Day celebrates all shoes and promotes unity whereas Air Max Day promotes the celebration of the original Air Max 1.

 Overall, SNKRS Day 2023 was a success. From experimental designs like Air Footscape Woven “Cow Print”, to more basic Nike Dunk Low “Midnight Navy” to even international shoes like Air Max 1 Big Bubble “World Make Korea,” there is a shoe for everyone on SNKRS Day 2023. 

  It is hard to know which sneakers will age the best, but we can make predictions. The Air Jordan 1 Low “World Make Japan” features denim and is meant to give a scrapbook design, giving it a very original design. Also, the Air Footscape Woven “Cow Print” is a very outgoing shoe, with a unique asymmetrical design, that will almost undoubtedly become more popular with time. 

  If you were fortunate enough to buy one of these sneakers before they sold out, congratulations! They sold out very quickly and on most, the resale value will be much more than their retail value.
