Boys Basketball:

Head Coach: Ryan Vasquez 

Key Returners: Andre Klaver, Lucas Austin, and Kaedon Phillips 

Last year’s biggest accomplishments: Regional Championship, 23-win season

Biggest rival game: Rock Falls, Rock Island 

Junior Kaedon Phillips said, “The expectations for this team and this season are high” and that some goals they set as a team were “be the best defensive team in the conference, win conference, win a sectional title.”

Girls Basketball:

Head Coach: Taylor Jackson

Key Returners: Madison Austin, Olivia Melcher, Merrick “Delali” Amankwa 

Last year’s biggest accomplishments: Working as a team to the end of the season

Biggest rival game: Moline

  Junior Madison Austin shared, “Our goal this season is to prove everyone who doubted us wrong”

Boys Swim:

Head Coach: Kyle Ruiz

Key Returners: Peter Garland, Connor Porter, Patrick Riley, and Dale Johnson

Last year’s biggest accomplishments: Skylar Drolema made it to state in two events (100 Free and 50 Free).

Biggest rival game: Moline

  Junior Connor Porter shared that he “can’t wait to go to sectionals” and excited “to see how we are as an overall team.”

Wrestling: 

Head Coach: Nolan Baker 

Key Returners: Dylan Ottens, Isaiah Mendoza, Tatum Allen, and Zyan Westbrook 

Last year’s biggest accomplishments: Multiple Sectional and State Qualifiers 

Biggest rival game: Rock Falls Duel

Senior Dylan Ottens said, “I feel like our team is the strongest it’s been since I’ve been a part of the team. I’m excited for this season and can’t wait to see how we perform.

  

Boys Bowling: 

Head Coach: Tracey Sivits

Key Returners: Henry Oberg, Nate Lobdell and Augustus Knutsen.

Last year’s biggest accomplishments: Mikah Herdandez bowling a perfect 300 game.

Biggest rival game: Geneseo

  Senior Henry Oberg shared, “We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I believe the team can come together to make this a great season.”

Girls Bowling: 

Head Coach: Loren Wolf

Key Returners: Hailey Conderman, Emily Doss, Olivia Barton, and Kara Garcia 

Last year’s biggest accomplishments: Beating two conference rivals (Geneseo and Dixon)

Biggest rival game: Geneseo

  Junior Audery Crisp stated, “I’m excited to see how my teammates improve”

Winter Cheer: 

Head Coach: Kiahana Krause

Key Returners: Adylyn Crandall, Alexsis Rosas, and Addison Robbins.

  Sophomore Adylyn Crandall said that she is “excited to see what new people will be there that didn’t do football cheer.”

Winter poms:

Head Coach: Jennifer Thueson

Key Returners: Addison Andrews, Payton Mcafferty, Ava Lehmon, and Kirsten Workman

Junior Addison Andrews stated, “I am excited to see what this season holds”

Junior Braden Birdsley is a  news reporter and is in his first year of publications. Braden also is on the varsity football and baseball team. Braden likes to hang out with friends and play video games. Braden is unsure of what he is going to do after high school.
