Top 10 Halloween movies

Top+Halloween+movies+for+this+year.+
Top Halloween movies for this year.

As the spooky season nears, there are many great Halloween movies to watch. Here is a list of the ten best Halloween movies.

Number ten is “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” This gets last place on my list because it is a holiday classic and is a great movie from start to finish but it puts you in the Christmas spirit. Although Christmas is great, there are still two full holidays that come before that, and they cannot be skipped.

At number nine is “Hereditary.” If you’re into scary movies, this is a perfect choice for you. This movie would be ranked higher if it was more family friendly as it’s a great movie but is disturbing at times with graphic images so not great for the little ones.

Number eight is “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” This is a short film rather than a movie; otherwise, it would be ranked higher. This short movie is a perfect family classic during Halloween time and it can truly be watched by all ages.

Number seven is “Ghostbusters.” This is an obvious pick on the list; any version of Ghostbusters is a good movie. Although it’s a Halloween classic, I never really enjoyed the movies so I can’t put it higher.

Number six is “Halloween.” I know this is a controversial placement for this movie, but this simply can not be higher because it is outdated and there are better and higher quality movies.

Number five is “Hocus Pocus.” This is another disputed pick on my list but because of its popularity and the Halloween spirit it puts you in, it is respectfully placed. That being said, I have never really been into this movie and couldn’t ever really get into it just for the fact that I don’t like witches.

Number four is “E.T.” If you enjoy aliens during Halloween, you would love this movie. This is  another classic for the spooky season and gives so many minimal-effort Halloween costume ideas.

Number three is “IT.” This is placed third because it is a relatively new movie and not many older people know this movie. The movie has plenty of great jump scares and an engaging plot. Junior Cristopher Martinez said, “It is one of my favorite movies to watch when it is the fall and Halloween season.”

Number two is “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” You have likely heard of this movie before and that’s why it is so high up on the list. This Halloween staple is one of the most liked and watched movies of all time. The jump scares and the gore in this movie makes it perfect to watch when you’re in the Halloween spirit.

The number one pick is “The Addams Family.” The movie is original and comedic because of the disturbing personalities of the Addams family members. I prefer the animated movie, but the live action version is also a great movie. This isn’t a jump scare movie but is one you can watch with the whole family or group of friends.

Make this Halloween one to remember and watch some of these top 10 picks.
