As the weather changes and pumpkin spice-flavored products are rolling back out onto store shelves, residents of the Sterling-Rock Falls area are looking for activities that help make the most of these beautiful fall days.
After discussing the topic of “favorite local fall activities” with a few S.H.S. staff members, I realized there was one top option for the best fall activity in the Sterling and Rock Falls area. It’s everybody’s favorite local attraction, Selmi’s.
Selmi’s is a pumpkin patch/apple orchard located in Rock Falls that is beloved by many locals.
First year chemistry teacher Jenna Truesdell says, “I love going to Selmi’s and doing all the different activities they have there, and also buying their apple cider donuts.”
Selmi’s has a wide range of activities for all age groups and audiences in general. Truesdell loves how Selmi’s “fits her lifestyle” even as an adult without kids.
Science teacher Nicole Schlemmer is also an avid Selmi’s supporter and claims “We [her family] have been annual season pass holders since that became an option.”
Selmi’s has offered the ability to be an “annual pass holder” to anyone interested. This can be useful for visitors interested in going regularly.
Schlemmer, who is a mother to three young children stated, “I love that it has most of the same activities as the larger apple orchard/pumpkin patches, but reasonable prices and local.”
Price is a very determining factor as far as where people decide to spend their time. Selmi’s is known to be very reasonably priced and offers a wide variety of attractions such as a corn maze, haunted house, and play equipment plus much more. It is also possible to simply go to Selmi’s to visit the product shop, buy some pumpkins, or get a delicious and warm apple cider donut!
Regardless of which activities you partake in at Selmi’s, you’ll have a blast!
