Entertainment Review: AirPods vs. Beats
Today music is a big part of people’s lives. There are many ways to listen to music and one of the highest examples would be through headphones. But there is a debate on who has the best headphones, but it really comes down to AirPods and Beats.
AirPods are a small compact pair of earbuds made by Apple. AirPods have different types that include Airpods (2nd generation), AirPod Pros, AirPod Maxes, and more. For the sake of comparisons, I will use the AirPods (2nd generation).
They have bluetooth connection and automatically connect to your phone or device when they are turned on. The charging case of the AirPods lasts up to 24 hours and AirPods themselves last up to five hours of listening time on one charge.
But AirPods charge very fast. 15 minutes of charging time allows for three hours of listening time. This generation specifically costs around $130.
They have a control system on the side that allows control of the audio, making calls, and activates Siri.
In comparison to airpods, Beats is a company founded by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine. Beats make headphones that come in many different forms. Examples of this would be over-ear headphones, wireless earbuds, and much more. For comparison I will use the Beats Studio 3’s.
This version of Beats headphones cost around $350. Beats have bluetooth that connects to both Apple and Android phones. They also have active noise canceling and support spatial audio.
These headphones have up to 22 hours of listening time and are adjustable to your liking. A 10 minute charge allows for three hours of listening so they also charge quite fast. They come with a charging cord and carrying bag.
There are also controls on the left side of the headphones that allow you to take and make phone calls, control volume and audio playback, and activate Siri.
Based on personal experience of someone that owns the Beats Studio 3 headphones, it makes the choice easier between the two. Both are good options but Beats overall are more comfortable than the AirPods and can be worn longer.
The AirPods (2nd generation) also do not have active noise cancellation. Beats are not as easy to lose. Although the AirPods are small it allows them to be lost easier.
The Beats may be more expensive but they are well worth it and that is why I would choose to buy the Beats headphones.
