Holiday drinks to try this Christmas
It can be difficult deciding what drink to get when you go to a café and want to try a new holiday drink, so hopefully this will help you pick one that you’ll like.
Drinks from Sophie’s
The Grinch This is December’s latte of the month, sweet and creamy matcha mixed with peppermint that creates a flavor similar to the Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s. It’s certainly one of the best holiday drinks on this list and not a flavor combination you see very often. I give this an 8/10.
Snowberry Latte White chocolate and blackberry are blended in this drink to create a sweet first sip and leave a berry aftertaste lingering in your mouth. This is sweeter than a majority of other holiday drinks and is certainly unique. This one gets a 6/10.
Gingerbread Latte The Gingerbread Latte is definitely my least favorite drink on this list, it might be the fact that I don’t like gingerbread or it might be that it’s just disgusting. Every sip I took of this drink made me physically recoil. Gingerbread spice and coffee flavor are way too strong and should be a bit more balanced out. I rate this one a 2/10.
Drinks from Starbucks
Caramel Brulée Latte This latte is very sweet, thick, and frothy with a creamy caramel flavor. I prefer the regular caramel flavored drinks from Starbucks over this one, it has a strange flavor. This gets a 5/10.
Almond Milk Sugar Cookie Latte The almond milk gives this latte a more bitter flavor, but the sugar cookie syrup makes it work out. It has a strong espresso flavor, so I would recommend this drink to someone who likes the taste of coffee, not just a bunch of sweeteners. I give this a 5/10.
Peppermint Mocha I personally don’t like chocolate flavors in my drinks, but if you do then I would recommend trying this holiday classic. It has a refreshing mint syrup combined with sweet mocha sauce, making it taste similar to mint hot chocolate (if you get it warm). This one gets a 7/10.
If any of these drinks sound appealing to you, I would recommend stopping by a cafe to get yourself something to get into the holiday spirit.
